NYSC Registration Requirements: Everything You Need to Know Before Visiting the Cyber Café

However, a smooth and successful registration process starts with proper preparation. Whether you’re a locally or foreign-trained graduate, or a married female PCM applying for concessional deployment, it’s important to know the requirements and carry the right documents.

Essential Items for All PCMs

Before heading to a cyber café for your NYSC registration, ensure you have the following items at hand:

1. Personal Details
   Basic information like full name, date of birth, state of origin, and contact address will be required. Ensure all details match your academic records.
2. Biro (Pen)
   Yes, this may sound simple, but you’ll need it to fill or sign physical forms or jot down important information at the café.
3. Active Email Account
   A Gmail account is recommended for efficiency. It will be used to create your NYSC profile and receive important updates. Ensure you can access it.
4. ATM Card (Visa or MasterCard)
   You’ll be required to make a ₦3,000 payment to NYSC (for the Call-up letter). This is done online, so your ATM card must be active for online transactions.
5. Cash for Cyber Café Charges
   Aside from the ₦3,000 paid online, be ready to pay the café for their service which may range between ₦1,000 to ₦5,000, depending on location.
6. School Matriculation and JAMB Registration Numbers
   These numbers are crucial for validating your student status and eligibility. Have them ready.
7. National Identification Number (NIN)
   Since NYSC collaborates with NIMC, ensure you have your NIN or National ID card available. Registration might be hindered without it.
8. Primary and Secondary School Graduation Years
   You will be asked to state the years you graduated from both primary and secondary school. Ensure the years are accurate.
9. Exact Date, Month, and Year of Graduation

3. Academic Transcript
   This must be officially issued and stamped by your institution.
4. WAEC Certificate
   Your O’Level result, as proof of secondary education.
5. Degree/School Certificate
   This confirms the course of study and institution.
6. School ID Card
   It must be the original ID card issued by your school, not a library card or hostel pass.

Note: All documents must be clear, properly scanned, and not cropped. Blurred documents may lead to disqualification or delay in mobilization.

Married Female PCMs Seeking Concessional Deployment

NYSC offers concessional deployment to married women who wish to serve in their husband’s state of residence. If you’re married and wish to apply for this, you must upload the following:

1. Marriage Certificate
   Either religious, court, or traditional marriage certificate is acceptable.
2. Husband’s Work ID Card
   This serves as proof of your husband’s current employment location.
3. Newspaper Change of Name
   If your surname has changed (e.g., from Miss to Mrs), you must upload the published change of name.
4. Utility Bills
   Provide a recent utility bill (electricity, water, waste, etc.) that shows your husband’s address.
5. Domicile/Residence Letter
   This letter should be from your husband’s community head or local government authority stating that you live there.

  Only ₦3,000 is paid directly to NYSC during registration for the Call-up Letter. Other charges depend on your cyber café.

• Passport Photograph:
  A clear, recent passport photo (white background) is required. Some cafes take it on the spot. Avoid heavy makeup or accessories in the photo.
