Introduction

🌙 Qasīdat Diwani — A Poem in Praise of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

In every age and every tongue, the praises of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ continue to flow — as rivers of light nourishing hearts thirsty for love and nearness. Among these timeless odes of devotion stands Qasīdat al-Madḥ an-Nabawī — a radiant composition celebrating the Prophet’s divine beauty, perfection, and spiritual universality.

Below is the full Arabic text with its English translation, allowing reflection on the profound meanings carried in each line.

Translation:
I have none but the Chosen One — the full moon of perfection — as my goal;
In others’ rewards or favors, I find no desire nor attraction.

💫 The poet begins with total devotion — his heart belongs solely to the Prophet ﷺ, the radiant “full moon” who outshines every other source of beauty and blessing.

Translation:
He is the All — from him comes all, inwardly and outwardly;
Beyond him, every sea holds no drink for us to taste.

🌊 Here, the Prophet ﷺ is described as the source through which all goodness flows — the fountain of both the seen and unseen realms. The poet declares that no other “ocean” can quench the soul’s thirst once one has tasted from his light.

Translation:
From his light, both worlds burst into being;
From him flow the knowledges of all prophets, and all drink from him.

☀️ This verse echoes the hadith that the first thing created was the light of Muhammad ﷺ — from which the entire cosmos came forth. Every prophet, every messenger, draws from that same fountain of divine illumination.

Translation:
Moses, Abraham, and the Spirit — all of them,
Sought nearness through the Trustworthy Guide, and thus were brought close.

🕊️ The Prophet ﷺ is not only the final messenger but the spiritual axis around which all earlier prophets revolved. Their nearness to Allah was enhanced through their connection to him — the Hādī al-Amīn (the Faithful Guide).

Translation:
He is the Perfect, the Praised, the ultimate Goal and Desire;
You are the Beloved, the Chosen, and the one nearest to God.

🌹 A crescendo of praise — the Prophet ﷺ is portrayed as the essence of perfection, the heart of divine love, and the closest of all creation to the Divine Presence.

Translation:
And God the Almighty Himself testified
That his character is noble, refined, and exalted among creation.

📖 This refers to the Qur’ānic verse: “And indeed, you are of a tremendous character.” (Qur’an 68:4). It reminds the reader that the Prophet’s noble nature was not human opinion but divine testimony.

Translation:
Upon him be the prayers of God, and peace as well —
A prayer by which every servant’s wish is fulfilled.

🌧️ Sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ becomes a key that opens doors of divine response — every need bows in surrender when one remembers him sincerely.

Translation:
Upon him be God’s blessings with every blink of an eye;
And peace — sweet as musk, or even purer.

🌺 This verse radiates fragrance — likening the Prophet’s remembrance to musk, the finest scent of paradise, symbolizing purity and everlasting beauty.

Translation:
Upon him be God’s blessings and peace once more —
A prayer that draws to us every station of nearness.

🕌 Here, ṣalāh (blessing) is portrayed as a vehicle of elevation — whoever constantly invokes it ascends spiritually through ranks of nearness to Allah.

Translation:
Upon him be the prayers and peace of God —
A prayer through the Chosen One that turns our drought to abundance.

🌧️ Through the Prophet ﷺ, life finds renewal. What was once barren blooms again. Spiritually and materially, blessings multiply through connection to him.

Translation:
Upon him be the prayers and peace of God,
Along with his family and companions — forever drawing us near.

💖 The poem closes with a complete invocation — blessings not only upon the Prophet ﷺ but also upon his noble family and loyal companions, linking all believers into this chain of love that spans eternity.
